Trail Dawgs Triple Crown Delaware
I find it difficult to do the long runs alone, so I love entering events for this. I also love trail running, and I love road trips to state parks. I satisfied all these needs with the trip to Newark, DE - for the Trail Dawgs Triple Crown.
It's a scenic course, a couple of creek crossings (be prepared for soggy socks and shoes) and an unseasonably warm day (85 deg by 11am). I intended to do the half marathon and push for the 10k - so that would've made it 19+ miles and a good long run pre-marathon. I went ahead and did the 5k too - so I was satisfied with the 22.4miles (+.7 miles getting lost) for the day. I did walk a good portion of the 5 and 10k though - but on a trail, it's not so bad.
A very satisfying run that's got me psyched for other trail runs.
